Polycystic

Describing an organ or tissue that contains multiple cysts, which are fluid-filled sacs. This condition arises from abnormal development or proliferation of epithelial cells, leading to the formation of numerous enclosed cavities. Polycystic ovary syndrome and polycystic kidney disease are examples of disorders characterized by this morphological feature.
