Antemortem

Relating to the period before death. In toxicology and forensic chemistry, it describes events, conditions, or the collection of biological samples that occurred while the subject was alive, such as analyzing blood for toxins taken from a living individual. This contrasts with postmortem analysis, which examines samples collected after death to determine the cause or contributing factors.
