Antarafacial
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000652
A stereochemical descriptor indicating that a reaction or process occurs on opposite faces of a pi system or a molecule. In pericyclic reactions, it describes the relative orientation of the interacting orbitals. For example, in a cycloaddition, two components can approach each other in an antarafacial manner.
