Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002087
A stereochemical descriptor indicating that two specified substituents are located on the same side of a reference plane or a double bond. This arrangement is common in organic molecules with restricted rotation, such as alkenes or cyclic compounds. It is often contrasted with the trans- isomer, where the substituents are on opposite sides.
