Atom-bond polarizability
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000888
A Hückel perturbation-theory quantity measuring how much the pi electron density at one atom changes when the resonance integral of a chosen bond is altered. It is the derivative of that electron density with respect to the bond's resonance integral beta, so it indicates how the pi electron distribution responds when the bond is strengthened or weakened.
