Cumulative mass-distribution function
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002781
A function giving, for each molar mass M, the share of the total mass of a polymer sample that is made up of molecules no heavier than M. It rises from 0 to 1 and is the integral of the differential mass distribution function with respect to molar mass. Plotted against molar mass, it shows how broad the distribution is, and the molar mass at which the curve reaches 0.5 is the median.
