Distribution function
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003344
A mathematical function describing how the molecules in a polymer sample are distributed with respect to a specific property, such as molar mass, chain length, or composition. It provides the relative amount of macromolecules that possess a particular value or range of values for the property being measured. For molar mass, the function is normalized such that the integral of the distribution over all possible molar masses equals one.
