Average number of radicals per particle
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001025
The mean quantity of free radicals present within each polymer particle in an emulsion polymerization system. This parameter, denoted by 'n', significantly influences the kinetics of emulsion polymerization, particularly the rate of polymerization and the molecular weight of the resulting polymer. It typically ranges from 0.1 to 10 in conventional emulsion polymerization.
