Seed particle
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010657
A pre-formed polymer particle introduced into a polymerization system to serve as a template for further polymer growth. These particles provide a surface for monomer adsorption and subsequent polymerization, controlling the final particle size and morphology. They are often used in emulsion polymerization to achieve narrow particle size distributions.
