Background equivalent concentration
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001076
A measure of the detection limit in atomic spectroscopy, defined as the concentration of an analyte that would produce a signal equal to the standard deviation of the background signal. This value indicates the concentration at which the analyte signal becomes distinguishable from the noise. It is often expressed in units of concentration, such as micrograms per milliliter.
