Beta-sheet breaker
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001205
A molecule designed to disrupt the formation or stability of beta-sheet structures in proteins. These agents typically interfere with the hydrogen bonding or steric interactions that stabilize the beta-sheet conformation. Such molecules are investigated for their potential to inhibit protein aggregation in neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's.
