Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001310
A type of pesticide derived from natural materials such as animals, plants, bacteria, and certain minerals. Biopesticides are categorized into three major classes: microbial pesticides, which consist of a microorganism as the active ingredient; plant-incorporated protectants, which are pesticidal substances that plants produce from genetic material added to the plant; and biochemical pesticides, which are naturally occurring substances that control pests by non-toxic mechanisms.
