Rotenoids
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010440
A class of naturally occurring isoflavonoid compounds characterized by a specific tetracyclic ring system, often found in plants of the Leguminosae family. Many rotenoids exhibit insecticidal and piscicidal properties, acting as mitochondrial electron transport chain inhibitors. Rotenone is a well-known example, historically used as a natural pesticide.
