Natural graphite
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007775
A naturally occurring crystalline form of carbon, characterized by its layered structure where carbon atoms are arranged in hexagonal rings. It is found in metamorphic and igneous rocks. This material is an excellent electrical and thermal conductor and is used in lubricants, electrodes, and refractories.
