Hexagonal graphite
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005278
The most common and stable allotrope of graphite, characterized by a crystal structure where the carbon atoms within each layer are arranged in a hexagonal lattice. The layers are stacked in an ABAB sequence, meaning that alternating layers are directly aligned. This form of graphite is found in natural deposits and is produced synthetically.
