Highly oriented pyrolytic graphite electrode
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005295
An electrode fabricated from graphite that has been subjected to high temperatures and pressures, resulting in a highly ordered crystalline structure with a preferred orientation. This material exhibits excellent electrical conductivity and a low density of edge plane defects, making it suitable for electrochemical studies. It is often used as a substrate for studying electron transfer reactions and for scanning probe microscopy.
