Polycrystalline graphite
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009121
A graphite material built from crystalline domains of restricted size, whatever the perfection or orientation of the domains. The domains can be randomly oriented, giving isotropic bulk properties, or partly aligned, giving anisotropic ones. Most industrial graphite is polycrystalline, and polygranular grades are the commonest form, while single crystals of graphite are the exception.
