Isotropic carbon
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006263
A monolithic carbon material whose crystallites have no preferred orientation, so conductivity, thermal expansion and strength are the same in every direction. It can be made from isotropic cokes or from thermosetting resin precursors. Isotropic graphite grades also exist, formed from fine-grained cokes by isostatic pressing.
