Isotropic pitch-based carbon fibres

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006264

Carbon fibers produced from isotropic pitch precursors, which do not exhibit a high degree of molecular alignment during the spinning and carbonization processes. Consequently, these fibers possess similar mechanical properties in both axial and radial directions. They typically have lower tensile strength and modulus compared to anisotropic pitch-based fibers.
