Carbon fibres type HM
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001639
High modulus carbon fibers, characterized by exceptionally high stiffness and a relatively lower tensile strength compared to high-strength types. These fibers are typically produced from pitch or highly graphitized polyacrylonitrile (PAN) precursors through high-temperature heat treatment. They are used in applications where rigidity is paramount, such as satellite structures and precision instruments.
