Mesophase pitch-based carbon fibres
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007226
Carbon fibers produced by spinning mesophase pitch into filaments, followed by stabilization and carbonization processes. These fibers exhibit high modulus and strength due to the highly ordered graphitic structure inherited from the mesophase precursor. They are used in advanced composite materials for aerospace and sporting goods.
