Pitch-based carbon fibres
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008984
Carbon fibers produced by the pyrolysis of pitch, a viscous residue derived from petroleum or coal tar. These fibers are characterized by their high carbon content, high strength-to-weight ratio, and excellent thermal and electrical conductivity. They are commonly used in composite materials for aerospace, automotive, and sporting goods applications.
