Constitutional sequence
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002472
A defined portion of a macromolecule comprising a specific succession of one or more species of constitutional units. This sequence can be of any length, from a single unit to the entire chain, and its specific arrangement defines the polymer's primary structure. In a copolymer, the arrangement of different constitutional units into sequences (e.g., alternating, random, or block) determines its overall properties.
