Cumulative double bonds
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002774
A structural arrangement in an organic molecule where two or more double bonds are directly adjacent to each other, sharing a common carbon atom. This results in a system where the pi bonds are perpendicular to each other. The simplest example is allene, which contains two cumulative double bonds.
