Degree of mineralization

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002950

A quantitative measure of the extent to which organic carbon in a polymer material has been converted into inorganic carbon, primarily carbon dioxide, through biological or chemical processes. This indicates the complete breakdown of the polymer structure into simple inorganic compounds. It is typically expressed as the percentage of initial organic carbon converted.
