Degree of dissociation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002947
The fraction of the initial amount of a substance that has undergone dissociation into smaller molecules, atoms, or ions. This value quantifies the extent to which a compound breaks apart in a solution or gas phase. It is a dimensionless quantity, typically expressed as a value between 0 and 1.
