Degree of disintegration

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002946

A quantitative measure of the extent to which a material, particularly a polymer, breaks down into smaller fragments under specific environmental conditions. This process involves the physical separation of the material into pieces that are no longer recognizable as the original item. It is typically evaluated by measuring the mass loss or the size distribution of the remaining fragments after exposure to a degrading environment.
