Degree of biofragmentation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002941
The extent to which a material is broken down into smaller pieces by biological processes, such as microbial action or enzymatic activity. This physical breakdown increases the surface area, making the material more accessible for subsequent biodegradation. It is often measured by changes in particle size or mass loss.
