Dissolved oxygen content
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003333
The concentration of molecular oxygen (O2) gas that is dissolved in a given volume of water. This parameter is a key indicator of water quality, as aquatic organisms require oxygen for respiration. Dissolved oxygen levels are influenced by temperature, pressure, and salinity, and are typically measured in milligrams per liter (mg/L) or as a percentage of saturation.
