Dysplasia
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003532
Abnormal development or maturation of cells, a tissue or an organ, recognised on morphological examination by disordered cell size, shape and organization. In epithelia such as the cervix it is graded from mild to severe and can progress to cancer, whereas developmental dysplasias, such as renal or skeletal dysplasia, are structural malformations rather than precancerous change.
