Efferent duct
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003600
A series of small, convoluted tubules that connect the rete testis in the testicle to the head of the epididymis. These ducts are responsible for absorbing most of the fluid produced by the seminiferous tubules, thereby concentrating the sperm before it enters the epididymis. In humans, there are approximately 12 to 20 efferent ducts that converge to form the single duct of the epididymis.
