Vas deferens
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012520
A pair of muscular tubes in the male reproductive system that transport sperm from the epididymis to the ejaculatory ducts in anticipation of ejaculation. Each duct, also known as the ductus deferens, is approximately 30 to 45 centimeters long in adult humans. During a vasectomy, these tubes are cut or sealed to prevent sperm from entering the seminal fluid, providing a permanent method of contraception.
