Caput epididymis

The most cranial or proximal segment of the epididymis, which is a coiled tube located on the posterior aspect of the testis. This region receives spermatozoa from the efferent ducts of the testis. It functions primarily in fluid absorption, concentrating the sperm before their transit to the corpus epididymis.
