Electron-deficient bond
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003745
A chemical bond in which there are fewer electrons than required to form conventional two-electron, two-center bonds between all directly bonded atoms. These bonds are often found in compounds of boron and other main group elements. A classic example is the three-center, two-electron bond in diborane.
