Electron density function
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003717
A mathematical function that describes the probability distribution of electrons in a molecule or atom. This function, often denoted as ρ(r), provides the electron density at any given point in three-dimensional space. Integration of the electron density function over all space yields the total number of electrons in the system.
