First-order chemical reaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004439
A chemical reaction whose rate depends linearly on the concentration of only one reactant. The rate of such a reaction is directly proportional to the concentration of that single reactant. The units for the rate constant of a first-order reaction are inverse time, such as s⁻¹.
