Fixed precursor ion spectrum

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004462

A mass spectrum obtained by selecting a single precursor ion and then fragmenting it, with all product ions subsequently detected. This technique, also known as product ion scanning, provides structural information about the chosen precursor ion. It is a fundamental mode of operation in tandem mass spectrometry.
