Fixed product ion scan
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004463
A mass spectrometry scanning mode where the second mass analyzer is set to detect a specific, fixed product ion, while the first mass analyzer scans to identify all precursor ions that fragment to produce this particular product. This method is useful for identifying compounds that share a common structural motif. It is also known as a parent ion scan.
