Fixed precursor ion scan
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004461
A mass spectrometry scanning mode where the first mass analyzer is set to transmit a specific, fixed precursor ion, while the second mass analyzer scans to detect all product ions resulting from its fragmentation. This technique is used to obtain the full product ion spectrum of a chosen precursor. It provides detailed structural information about a particular ion.
