Linked scan
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006650
A scan on an instrument that has several mass analysers, during which the field strengths of more than one analyser are varied together so that a fixed relationship between them is kept. On a magnetic and electric sector instrument, scanning B and E with B/E held constant records the product ions of a chosen precursor ion, while holding B²/E constant records the precursor ions that give a chosen product ion.
