Global warming

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004910

The long-term increase in Earth's average surface temperature, primarily caused by the buildup of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere from human activities. This phenomenon leads to changes in global climate patterns, including rising sea levels and more frequent extreme weather events. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) regularly assesses the scientific basis of global warming.
