Macrometeorology
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006871
The study of atmospheric phenomena on a large scale, encompassing weather systems with horizontal dimensions of thousands of kilometers. It analyzes the dynamics and thermodynamics of planetary waves, jet streams, and large cyclones and anticyclones that shape global weather patterns. This field contrasts with mesometeorology and micrometeorology, which study phenomena on progressively smaller spatial and temporal scales.
