Relating to atmospheric phenomena that occur on a spatial scale larger than microscale events but smaller than synoptic-scale systems. These phenomena typically range from a few kilometers to several hundred kilometers in horizontal extent and have durations from hours to a day. Examples include sea breezes, thunderstorms, and mountain-valley winds.
