Reaction time
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009972
The elapsed time from the initiation of a chemical reaction, typically by mixing reagents, to the point when a measurement is made to determine the reaction's progress or extent. In kinetic methods of analysis, the analytical signal is measured as a function of this time. The reaction time is precisely controlled and can range from milliseconds in stopped-flow systems to many hours for very slow reactions.
