Stopped flow
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011446
A rapid mixing technique used to study the kinetics of fast chemical reactions, particularly those occurring in solution. Reactant solutions are rapidly mixed and then abruptly stopped in an observation cell, allowing spectroscopic or other measurements to be made as the reaction proceeds. Reaction times ranging from milliseconds to several seconds can be investigated with this method.
