Mass range
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006988
The span of mass-to-charge ratios (m/z) that a mass spectrometer is capable of detecting and analyzing. This characteristic defines the types of ions that can be measured by a particular instrument. Modern mass spectrometers can analyze ions with m/z values ranging from a few atomic mass units up to several hundred thousand.
