Haloforms

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005081

Organic compounds with the general formula CHX3, where X represents a halogen atom (fluorine, chlorine, bromine, or iodine). These compounds are characterized by a single carbon atom bonded to one hydrogen atom and three halogen atoms. Chloroform (CHCl3) is a well-known example of a haloform.
