Tungsten-halogen lamp
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-012358
A type of incandescent lamp that uses a tungsten filament enclosed in a compact, transparent envelope filled with a halogen gas, such as iodine or bromine. The halogen gas regenerates the tungsten filament by a chemical cycle, preventing blackening of the bulb and extending its lifespan. These lamps produce a high-intensity white light and are commonly used in projectors, automotive headlights, and stage lighting.
