Homozygote
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005388
An individual organism that has two identical alleles for a particular gene at corresponding loci on homologous chromosomes. This genetic makeup results in the expression of a single phenotype for that trait, assuming complete dominance. For example, an individual with two 'AA' alleles is homozygous dominant.
