Homozygous

Describing an individual or a cell that possesses two identical alleles for a specific gene at the corresponding loci on homologous chromosomes. This genetic condition means that the individual will express the trait associated with that allele. For instance, an individual with two copies of the 'a' allele is homozygous recessive.
